Must read

Ugandan authorities announced Tuesday that Parliament will be closed for two weeks as the second wave of the new coronavirus pandemic continues to sweep the country of East and Central Africa.

Its facilities will be closed to body members from June 28th to July 11th to disinfect and prevent further outbreaks of the virus among elected officials and officials, according to a statement from its services.

The decision follows an announcement last week that more than 100 lawmakers, their aides and staff members have been infected with SARS-CoV-2. The Ugandan Parliament has 529 seats.

According to the announcement, the positivity index has reached “17.1%”.

Officially, as of Tuesday, Uganda had recorded 714 deaths due to COVID-19 out of a total of 73,401 SARS-CoV-2 cases since March 2020.
