President Uhuru Kenyatta has reassigned the Cabinet Secretary of the Ministry of Devolution, Eugene Wamalwa, to the Ministry of Defence in a cabinet shake-up.
He was replaced as Devolution CS by Monica Juma who was reassigned to the Ministry of Energy.
Uhuru also reassigned Hon. Charles Keter to the Ministry of Devolution.
The president also re-assigned the following Principal Secretaries: Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Gordon O. Kihalangwa to the State Department for Energy, Dr. (Eng.) Joseph K. Njoroge to the State Department for Transport, Mr. Solomon Kitungu, Mr. Nelson Marwa Sospeter to the State Department for Social Protection, Senior Citizens Affairs & Special Programmes.
President Uhuru also made the following reorganizations and transfer of functions: The State Department for ASALs has been transferred to the Ministry of Public Service & Gender.
The State Department for Social Protection, Pensions and Senior Citizens has been transferred to the Ministry of Public Service & Gender.
The Ministry of Devolution & The ASALs was reconstituted and renamed as the Ministry of Devolution.
The Ministry of Public Service & Gender was reconstituted and renamed as the Ministry of Public Service, Gender, Senior Citizens Affairs & Special Programmes.
The Ministry of Labour & Social Protection was reconstituted and renamed as the Ministry of Labour.
