Uhuru urges politicians to unite for the benefit of citizens

President Uhuru Kenyatta has reiterated calls for peace unity among Kenyans with only 13 months to the 2022 general elections,

The head of state was speaking at the official launch of the Marian Shrine of Our Lady of Protection Museve of the Catholic Diocese of Kitui where he also urged politicians to put aside their differences in order to foster development.

With the Building Bridges Initiative appeal case set to commence in just two days coupled with rising political temperatures and an economy on its knees from the damages of the COVID-19 pandemic, President Uhuru Kenyatta is seeking divine intervention.

The sacred grounds of the Marian Shrine of Our Lady of Protection Museve of the Catholic Diocese of Kitui offering the head of state the perfect opportunity.

“Let us continue to pray for the peace and unity of our country and our people. May we work together, may we know that we will build our nation in one way only; standing together and loving each other as brothers and sisters we are all children of God,” said President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Hammering home, the need for peaceful co-existence, the President’s visit to the holy grounds in Kitui, coming a day after Dp Ruto rallied Nakuru residents in opposing the BBI should it pass through the appellate court, Uhuru says leaders must embrace unity of purpose. 

“As Bishop has told us that his joy is to see his colleagues from different churches come to join him to celebrate with him, We too as politicians should also unite and we will accomplish so much for the benefit of our citizens,” said President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The grounds of the Marian Shrine of Our Lady of Protection Museve of the Catholic Diocese of Kitui have been developed by the Catholic Diocese of Kitui to serve as a privileged place of prayer, retreat and recollection.
