Earlier today, the Senate Committee on Health, chaired by Sen. Michael Mbito met with a delegation from the Ministry of Health, led by CS Sen Mutahi Kagwe.

The Committee received a comprehensive update on the Covid-19 situation and the deployment exercise of vaccines across the country.

The Committee heard that as of Monday this week, 3.6 m Kenyans had been vaccinated; with a target of 5.8m by the 58th #MashujaaDay celebration.

In the 3rd phase of the vaccination (Jan – Dec 2022) & as global supply chains improve, the country projects to receive 25m vaccine doses.

The CS noted that increased herd immunity and sustained low positivity rates would allow the country to open up its economy.
