Charles Owino, the immediate former Police Spokesperson in the National Police Service, said that he’d put his best foot forward before his time to leave the service, which will be late this year or early next year to run for governor of Siaya,
He said that the transfer will give him less visibility and controversy. “I mean it,” Owino stated emphatically.
The immediate former police spokesperson added that the moment you declare an interest in a political position, you automatically become prejudiced. “It’s only fair that I’m assigned to a task that requires less attention and visibility,” he said.
“If I had stayed in that position, my political opponents would have seen me as having an unfair advantage,” he added.
Charles Owino had declared that he intends to win the Siaya gubernatorial election 2 months ago. The immediate former police spokesperson issued a warning to his opponents, including Siaya Senator James Orengo, who is seen as the frontrunner if he runs.
