A woman was badly injured after a vehicle rammed into a house in Mwirine village in Imenti, Meru County, on Sunday after the driver lost control due a burst tyre.
According to an eyewitness, arriving on the scene, he found the white Toyota Corolla sedan had run headlong into a home; the car remained there in the hours following the crash, heavily damaged.
He said no one in the home was hurt.
The owner of the vehicle said that he was driving when the car’s tyre burst, lost control and rammed into a house after hitting a kiosk.
A woman who was walking by the roadside was badly injured and was rescued by passers-by and sent to a hospital.
The police towed the heavily damaged Toyota Corolla sedan to the police station and are investigating the accident.
