Woman accused of practicing ‘witchcraft’ beaten to death

Must read

In several cultures around the world, the word witchcraft has both positive and negative connotations. Witchcraft is defined as the use of supernatural or magical forces to alter everyday happenings.

Witchcraft is frequently related with natural forces such as medicinal and dangerous plants, as well as rain and floods.

People accused of witchcraft are supposed to have the ability to influence natural events such as storms and droughts.

Despite the fact that both men and women can be accused of witchcraft, women make up the vast majority.

Tanzanian police have arrested a man accused of murdering his wife and dumping her body in a village well because he feared she was a witch.

According to the suspect, the wife had been practicing black magic and had cast a curse on their family in December of last year, causing a 12-year-old girl to become ill and die.

In their statements to the media, eyewitnesses claimed that the suspect severely beaten her wife before slicing her throat to death.

The suspect has been arrested and put into police custody, according to the police commander, who confirmed the occurrence. He will be arraigned in court once the inquiry is done.
